Consumer Information

QSOMAP.ORG displays information from your logbook that you voluntarily provide.

This information is generally used by members of the amateur radio community for the purpose of viewing on a Google Map the location of various contacts you have logged.

While QSOMAP provides security to prevent others from UPDATING your uploaded logbook contacts, expect that the general public may view your contacts. Please DO NOT upload any contact information from your logbook you do not want to be made available to the public.

Data Collection and Opt Out

Participation in the QSOMAP data collection process is voluntary except for the occasional use of browser "cookies".

QSOMAP, as well as most sites on the Internet, occasionally may use "cookies" to enhance your experience on the web. QSOMAP does not and cannot use these cookies to personally identify you in any way.

What are cookies and why do we use them?

Our cookies consist of a unique random number that our system generates and hands back to your browser. As you move from page to page within the QSOMAP site, we are able to verify your login identity without asking you to re-submit your password each time. This is done so that only you may update your QSOMAP information.

The cookie that QSOMAP assigns does not contain any personal information whatsoever.

Cookies are required by QSOMAP for any function that has the ability to UPDATE QSO contact information.
